Within hours of polls opening on Election Day, technical issues arose in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, as electronic voting machines malfunctioned, blocking the scanning of ballots, CNN reported on Tuesday.
Cambria County, which sits near Pittsburgh, cast 68% of its votes for Trump in 2020 and 31% for Biden.
In response, the Cambria County Board of Elections sought a court order to extend voting hours until 10 p.m. ET. Officials quickly reassured the public that all voters would be accommodated, instructing them to submit paper ballots until the electronic scanner issue is resolved.
Florida election results expected by "bedtime" - CNN
As of Monday, 8.3 million Floridians have cast ballots early, either by mail or in person, Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd told CNN on Tuesday.
During a Tuesday morning briefing, Byrd reported that more than 560,000 Floridians had already voted earlier that morning.
“All 67 election supervisors are reporting normal activity with polling stations open and no issues identified,” Byrd said.
He added that Florida’s election results are expected to be available by the time “you go to bed tonight.” Polls across the state are set to close at 7 p.m. ET.
