Paris Texas, Hod Hasharon

The excellent restaurant chain is expanding its reach and growing its meat and burger radius. This time, they're landing in the Presidents’ Boulevard area of Hod Hasharon, a city that has seen a real food revolution in recent years.

The new location, joining existing spots in Givatayim, Tel Aviv, and Rishon Lezion, is set up in the David complex and designed with family lunches and evening outings in mind. The menu features smash burgers, cheeseburgers, fries with cheddar sauce, crispy chicken, and more substantial cuts to enjoy on-site or to-go.

11th Birthday Celebration, Ariya

The wonderful Tel Aviv restaurant, led by Moshiko Abraham, is celebrating another year of sunshine with three special, delicious, and exciting evenings.

On Tuesday (August 13), Abraham will host Gal Ba'akba from Shila for a back-to-back kitchen takeover, featuring dishes like lobster ravioli with white wine foam, charcoal-grilled veal sweetbreads, and lamb neck-filled dumplings.

The following day, the restaurant will host a Bukharian celebration with Abraham’s parents, including dushbara soup, oshpolo, veal sweetbreads skewers, and plenty of music (NIS 330).

The celebrations will wrap up, though certainly not end, on Thursday (August 15) with a dessert frenzy by Ofer Ben Natan—corn, of course, but also apricot cheburak, rice pudding, chocolate mantu, and Lurona with caramelized white chocolate and cardamom.

Birthday Cakes, Asif and Danone

A lovely collaboration between the Center for Food Culture and the School of Culinary Excellence has produced a sweet tribute in every possible way.

At the center of attention is the rather legendary book by Josie Mendelson, who was ahead of her time and created an obsession with festive, decorated, colorful, and wonderful cakes in the 1980s. Her story, along with contemporary versions of those cakes, will be featured today (Sunday, August 11) at Café Asif, including slices of train cake, hot air balloon cake, and that pool we all wanted to dive into.

New Dishes, Petra

The long-established restaurant of Simo Ben Hovel on the Ashdod coastline is refreshing and updating its menu and dishes, which already present tough choices, thanks to Bill Miller.

You can find here, among other things, mushroom khinkali, fish carpaccio, Georgian khabo, imeruli with pepperoni, duck skewers with root vegetables, fried sea bass with shifka aioli, paella, and crème pâtissière blinis for dessert.
