Hamas calls the IDF's Beirut strike a dangerous escalation, while the White House avoids comment amid escalating tensions and ongoing ceasefire talks.

Iran’s proxies are all expanding their attacks. The Houthis targeted Tel Aviv and killed a person on July 19.

The city has been on edge for days ahead of an anticipated Israeli attack in retaliation in Majdal Shams, where Israel and the United States have blamed Hezbollah for the attack.

Lufthansa said it had suspended five routes to and from Beirut "in an abundance of caution."

Beirut airport was hit early in the last war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006.

“Beirut, your time is coming!” the video warned, following Hezbollah’s rocket barrage on Tuesday. “Get ready, you’re running out of time!”

Lebanese ministers claimed that the Telegraph's report on a weapons arsenal being stored in the airport was "part of Israel's attempts to justify its attacks on Lebanon."

Iran has significantly increased supplying rockets to Hezbollah via Beirut's airport, causing concerns among employees about Hezbollah's influence and potential Israeli retaliation.

The army said the attacker, a Syrian national, was taken to hospital for treatment and that it was continuing to comb the area.
