Patel's fears come after several prominent figures were fired from the Trump administration, including former US Army chief of staff Randy George and former attorney-general Pam Bondi.

Courtney Williams, 40, of Wagram, North Carolina, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to the transmission of classified national defense information to unauthorized individuals.

Among the names being discussed are FBI Director Kash Patel, Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the Atlantic said, adding that the timing was 'uncertain.'

A Justice Department official confirmed to Reuters that Patel's emails were compromised but did not go into detail.

Kash, who said agents who worked on the election case were “corrupt actors” who “weaponized law enforcement,” terminated them without a hearing or investigation, the lawsuit claims.

Alden Welch Ruml, 26, was arrested on Friday and charged by federal prosecutors in Boston with making threats in interstate commerce.

Patel portrayed the seizing of his phone records by the FBI and efforts to conceal them as an example of overreach by unelected government officials under Biden.
